Most small-business sites do not need a CMS, a database, or a server. They need to load instantly, rank well, and be easy to change. I build static-first sites with a modern framework, deploy them to a CDN, and hand you a repo you actually own.

Static-first, not static-only

Static-first means the default is pre-rendered HTML served from the edge — no cold starts, nothing to patch, a hosting bill measured in cents. Where a page genuinely needs to be dynamic (a search, a live price, a form handler), that one piece runs as an edge function while the rest of the site stays static.

The result loads in well under a second on a mid-range phone and costs almost nothing to run whether it gets 100 visitors a month or 100,000.

You own everything

You get the Git repository, the hosting account, and the domain — in your name, not mine. The build is standard framework output with no proprietary lock-in, so any developer can pick it up later.

  • Repo handed over with full history and a README that explains how to run and deploy it
  • Hosting and DNS set up in your own accounts, with access documented
  • A short screen recording walking through how to edit content and publish

What a typical engagement looks like

A scoping call to agree pages, content, and design direction. A first deploy of the skeleton within days so you can click through it on a real URL. Then iteration on content and design against that live preview until it is ready to point the domain at.

FAQ

Can you work from an existing design or Figma file?

Yes. If you have a design, I build to it. If you do not, I start from a design system in this site's own style and adapt it to your brand colours and type.

How do I edit content afterwards?

Content lives in structured files (or a headless CMS if you prefer). Small text changes are a one-line edit and a push; I can also wire up a CMS so non-developers edit in a browser.

Do you do e-commerce?

For simple catalogues and checkout I integrate a hosted provider (Stripe, Snipcart, Shopify's headless API). For a full storefront with inventory and fulfilment I will tell you honestly if a dedicated platform is the better call.
